On the shelves of St. Petersburg will be more local seafood by 2030
In the Northern capital by 2030, the number of farmed fish in the Leningrad region will amount to 20 thousand tons. Now the figure reaches 11 thousand tons annually. The increase in the volume of aquatic biological resources will allow to sell on the shelves of the city’s more local goods.
In addition, experts say about the planned increase in the number of processed products. This was stated by the Vice-Chairman on agro-industrial and fishery complex of the Alexander Varenov. He noted that the national average people consume no more than 17 kilograms of fish per year. In other countries the figure is higher – from 23 kilograms.
In 2018 the industry from the Federal budget will be allocated about 75 million rubles as subsidies.
