Russia and Guinea will sign fishing agreement
Of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Guinea is going to conclude an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture. The document will be signed on the sidelines of a fishing forum and exhibition in St. Petersburg.
The draft agreement was approved by decree of the RF Government dated 13 August 2018 No. 1671. The document establishes the principles of cooperation between the two countries in the field of conservation and sustainable use of living marine resources, and management within the EEZ of Guinea. Also spelled out conditions of fishing vessels under the Russian flag in the waters of the Republic.
As the correspondent of Fishnews, it is intended to interact, in particular in the fight against poaching, to fisheries research, aquaculture development, technologies of production and processing of fish and seafood, shipbuilding, training for the fishing industry of Guinea. Provides for the use of the ports of the Republic for repair, maintenance, replenishing supplies and food fleet.
The conditions of the Russian fisheries in the exclusive economic zone of Guinea will determine the mixed Commission on fishery.
The Ministry of agriculture is mandated to hold talks with the Guinean side and sign the agreement. It is planned in the framework of a fishing forum in St. Petersburg, said at a recent press conference the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov.
The second international fishery forum and Exhibition of fishing industry, seafood and technologies will be held in the Northern capital, from 13 to 15 September. The motto of the forum and the main theme of the plenary session this year is “the World’s fisheries to 2050: resources, markets, technologies”. To discuss these questions in St.-Petersburg will arrive delegations from leading fishing powers. Including Faroe Islands, Iceland, China, Japan, South Korea, Mauritania, Iran, USA, Senegal.
Exhibition of fishing industry, seafood technology and also this year to a new level. “The area of the international exhibition will be 13 thousand square meters. It will be attended by over 200 companies, of which about 60% are foreign companies from Germany, Holland, Denmark, Iceland, Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and many other countries”, – said the head of the Federal Agency.
