Russian fishermen have increased the catch by 4%
According to the Federal Agency for fishery of the Russian Federation, August 22, the Russian fishermen produced 3,39 million tons, 4% more than last year.
In the far Eastern fishery basin caught 2.36 million tonnes of aquatic bioresources, 6% or 143 thousand tons more than last year. The fishery of Alaska Pollock production decreased by 20 thousand tons to 1.32 million tons. The catch of cod increased by 3.5 thousand tonnes to 86.7 thousand tonnes. Production of Pacific salmon has reached 467 thousand tons, more than last year 190 thousand tons.
The fishermen of the North fishery basin and mastered by 11% or 45.4 thousand tons more than last year – 458.5 thousand tons, mainly due to the production of capelin in 2018 in the amount of 65,93 thousand tons. The catch of cod decreased by 25.6 thousand tonnes to 279 thousand tonnes, haddock – 8.5 thousand tons, 66.9 thousand tonnes. In the Western basin, the volume of catch increased by 4% or 2,3 thousand tons and made up 54.3 per thousand tons. The fishery sprat mastered by 0.6 thousand tons – 31 tons. The catch of Baltic herring increased by 2.2 thousand tons to 17.14 tons.
In the Azov-black sea fishery pool produced 13% or 7.5 thousand tons less than last year – 48 thousand tons. The catch of anchovy decreased by 5.8 thousand tons and amounted to 21.7 thousand tons, sardelle – 1.9 thousand tonnes to 3.4 tonnes. The volume of sprat production increased by 1 thousand tons and reached 13.5 thousand tons. The catch in the Volga-Caspian fishery basin amounted to 31.4 thousand tons, which is less than last year by 13 percent, or 4.5 million tons, in connection with a decrease in the production of sardines, small ordinary fish, and other freshwater fisheries.
The exploration of aquatic bioresources of the Russian vessels in the zones of foreign States, said the Agency has increased by 4% or 12.3 thousand tons to 295 thousand tons, mainly from fishing in the zone of Mauritania. In conventional districts and open part of the oceans produced by 30% or 59.4 thousand tons less 129,2 thousand tons due to a decline in the number of vessels in the fishery. The volume produced from catches of the products remained at the same level as last year – more than 2 million tons.
