The presidents released into the Caspian sea sturgeon fingerlings and made a joint photo
The presidents of the “Caspian five” – Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan – took a walk along the promenade of Aktau after V Caspian summit, reports “WORLD 24”.
New quay is a special pride of the citizens. The rotunda, viewing platforms and relaxation areas are all built according to modern standards. After the promenade, the presidents took part in a symbolic ceremony – produced sturgeon fingerlings into the Caspian sea. Also, the heads of state took part in the ceremony photography.
According to experts, the Caspian sea is 90% of the world reserves of sturgeon, and therefore a valuable export product, black caviar.
The main event of the summit was the signing of the Convention on the legal status of the Caspian морz, which was developed in 1996. The final document was agreed in the meeting of foreign Ministers of the Caspian States on 4-5 December 2017 in Moscow.
The Convention defines each littoral state Maritime borders, the area for fishing, reglementary the conduct of marine research and the laying of cables and pipelines on the seabed. In addition, the document introduces a ban on the presence in the reservoir of the armed forces and the construction of military bases of third countries.
The summit also signed several sectoral agreements on cooperation in the Caspian sea. Among them – the Protocol on cooperation in combating terrorism, the Protocol on cooperation in combating organized crime and the Agreement on the prevention of incidents in the Caspian sea.
